McDonald's brings the “Taste of Korea,”
supporting local farms and enhancing burger flavor

Through the “Taste of Korea” project, McDonald’s Korea introduces unique flavors from different regions across the country, offering distinctive tastes made with high-quality local ingredients. Regional specialties such as the Changnyeong Garlic Burger, Boseong Green Pork Burger, Jindo Green Onion Cream Croquette Burger, Jinju Chili Cream Cheese Burger, and Iksan Sweet Potato Mozzarella Burger have been launched as part of this initiative, promoting mutual growth with local farmers.
As of 2025, cumulative sales of “Taste of Korea” burgers and beverages have surpassed 30 million units, contributing to the use of over 1,000 tons of domestically sourced ingredients and boosting the local economy. McDonald’s Korea also prioritizes local sourcing for key ingredients such as lettuce, eggs, and chicken, procuring more than 14,000 tons of domestic ingredients annually as of 2024.
McDonald’s Happy Walk — Walking Together for a Cause

The “McDonald’s Happy Walk” is a customer-participation charity walking event held as part of McDonald’s Family Campaign, celebrating Family Month in May. It invites families to walk together, share joyful memories, and practice the spirit of giving through a warm, community-driven experience.
All participation fees are donated in full to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Korea, helping fund comfort homes located near hospitals where seriously ill children and their families can stay together during treatment. In the 2025 event, more than 5,000 participants — including customers, McDonald’s employees, franchise owners, and supplier partners — walked a 4km course around Seoul World Cup Park, spreading a culture of healthy giving while celebrating the precious value of family.
Ronald McDonald House — A Place Where Sick Children and Their Families Can Rest and Heal Together

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Korea is a global non-profit organization that operates “Ronald McDonald House”, a comforting home near hospitals where seriously ill children and their families can stay together and focus entirely on treatment. In 2017, RMHC Korea opened the nation’s first facility on the grounds of Pusan National University Hospital in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, providing a warm and supportive refuge for over 1,800 families to date. As RMHC Korea’s largest corporate sponsor, McDonald’s Korea regularly donates a portion of sales from Happy Meal, Prosperity Burger, and other menu items to support the program. Furthermore, McDonald’s continues to extend its support to help establish a new Ronald McDonald House in Seoul, where major hospitals are concentrated, ensuring that even more families can stay close to their loved ones during treatment.
The “Burger of Happiness” Campaign — Spreading Joy in Our Communities

Launched in 2013, McDonald’s “Burger of Happiness” is one of the brand’s flagship social contribution campaigns. It delivers hearty McDonald’s meals to people who dedicate themselves to their communities and to places in need, sharing messages of support and appreciation. As of September 2025, the “Happy Burger” campaign has donated approximately 260,000 meals, visiting a wide range of sites — from disaster relief volunteers, firefighters, and soldiers, to medical staff at children’s hospitals — to deliver warmth and encouragement firsthand. Recently, the initiative has expanded its outreach, partnering with local community child centers to provide “Happy Burger” whenever new McDonald’s stores open, continuing to spread joy and support where it’s needed most.
Enhancing Kiosk Accessibility for an Inclusive McDonald’s Experience

McDonald’s Korea is continuously enhancing kiosk accessibility to create restaurants that are open and welcoming to all. As the first in the domestic QSR industry to introduce voice-guided kiosk features for the visually impaired, the system has now been expanded to 100% of all company-operated restaurants nationwide. In addition, company-owned stores are equipped with braille blocks, table service, and assistance call bells to ensure that every customer can enjoy a seamless and comfortable experience. McDonald’s Korea has also collaborated with the National Institute for Lifelong Education to develop and distribute kiosk education materials for digitally underserved groups. These programs use actual menus and screen simulations to help elderly participants become more familiar with digital ordering, while opening store spaces for hands-on practice to make digital accessibility truly inclusive.
Employee volunteering at “Purme Social Farm,” supporting the independence of people with developmental disabilities

McDonald’s Korea regularly visits “Purme Social Farm,” an advanced smart farm that helps young adults with developmental disabilities build independence and self-reliance. Through these ongoing volunteer activities, McDonald’s practices its values of “Inclusion” that shows respect for diversity and provides open opportunities for all, and “Community” that embodies the spirit of being a good neighbor that gives back to society.
